Bradley Chorale Annual Holiday Concert to feature Christmas Oratorio

Peoria, IL (November 1, 2012) The Bradley University Chorale will present its annual Holiday Concert on Sunday, December 2, at 3 p.m. in Dingeldine Music Center, located at 1417 W. Barker Avenue. Admission is $5 for adults and free for students.

The concert will feature Part VI of Bach's Christmas Oratorio, written for Epiphany (twelfth night of the Christmas season), with orchestra and soloists.  Also featured on the concert are Marc-Antoine Charpentier's Song of the Nativity, works by William Averitt, Bob Chilcott, and Eric Whitacre, and El Regio Sendero, an audience-participation experience written by Ben Alloway for Epiphany (“Dia de Reyes”) in Puerto Rico. 

The Bradley Chamber Singers will present music about birds, including “Chant des Oiseaux” by Clement Janequin, “Birds” by John Biggs, and the King’s Singers arrangement of “The Twelve Days of Christmas.”

Soloists for the Christmas Oratorio are soprano Shirley Salazar of the Bradley Music Department and Chicago tenor Trevor Mitchell.  The concert is directed by John Jost.
