Student to give violin recital

Peoria, IL (March 13, 2012) Kelsey Klopfenstein, a senior violin performance major at Bradley University, will present a violin recital on Saturday, March 24, at 7:30 p.m. at Dingeldine Music Center, located at 1417 W. Barker Avenue.
Klopfenstein’s recital program includes Sonata No. 1 in G Major by Johannes Brahms, Sonata No. 2 in A Minor by J.S Bach, and Pablo Sarasate’s Zigeunerweisen. She will be accompanied by Andrea Molina on piano.
Klopfestein studies violin with Marcia Henry Liebenow, Bradley music faculty member and Concertmaster of the Peoria Symphony Orchestra. She is the 2011-2012 Presser Scholar. She plays with the Bradley Symphony Orchestra and the Peoria Symphony Orchestra in addition to teaching private violin lessons. She studies conducting with Brian Dollinger and last January conducted the BSO in concert. Following graduation, she plans to spend a year in Haiti teaching music at the Ecole Sainte Trinité in Port-au-Prince, and then pursue graduate studies in conducting and violin. Kelsey is the daughter of Wayne and Carol Klopfenstein of Peoria.
