Author to speak at psychology colloquium

April 4, 2012

Peoria, IL (April 4, 2012) - The Daniel J. Elias Honors Endowment Fund Colloquium and Poster Session at Bradley University on April 24 will feature a keynote address by nationally recognized social psychologist Dr. Jean Twenge.

The event, hosted by the Department of Psychology, will begin with student poster presentations at 6:30 p.m. in the foyer of the Michel Student Center ballroom.  Dr. Twenge’s address, titled “The Narcissism Epidemic and its Implications for Education and the Workplace,” will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the ballroom. The event is free and open to the public.

A professor at San Diego State University, Dr. Twenge has recently authored two popular books: The Narcissism Epidemic: Living in the Age of Entitlement and Generation Me: Why Today’s Young Americans Are More Confident, Assertive, Entitled—and More Miserable Than Ever Before. Both books are based on her research demonstrating how our culture and national personality has changed in recent decades.

The Daniel J. Elias Honors Endowment Fund was established to encourage quality student research, and to create a place where accomplishments in student research can be prominently featured.
