Jazz ensembles present Afternoon of Jazz

Peoria, IL (April 11, 2012) The Bradley University Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Lab Band, under the direction of Dr. Todd Kelly, will present an Afternoon of Jazz on Saturday, April 28, at 7:30 p.m. in the Dingeldine Music Center, located at 1417 W Barker Avenue. Tickets are $5 and admission is free for students.  

The Jazz Lab Band will open the concert with several selections, including Minnie the Moocher, Manteca, Night Train, and Splanky. The 18-member Jazz Ensemble will perform the music of Charles Mingus, Adam Larson, John Clayton, and several others.

Dr. Todd Kelly, associate professor of music, directs the Bradley Jazz Bands and Jazz Combo, teaches studio trumpet, and serves as the advisor for the music business program. He is in demand throughout the Midwest as a soloist and clinician.
