Peoria Lunaire Concert is April 18

Peoria, IL (April 13, 2012) Peoria Lunaire, the Bradley University Ensemble for New Music, will present its spring concert on Wednesday, April 18, at 7:30 p.m. in Dingeldine Music Center, located at 1417 W. Barker Avenue. Admission is free.

Highlights will include performances by guest artists from Illinois Wesleyan University and by the Bradley Chamber Singers. Tenor Justin Vickers and pianist R. Kent Cook of the IWU faculty will perform Tony Solitro’s award-winning song cycle War Wedding. The Chamber Singers, under the direction of Dr. John Jost, will present varied works by the noted American composers Richard Felciano, Ross Lee Finney, and Lee Kesselman.

Compositions by Ryan Moore, a junior from Mt. Zion, and Kinza Hagerup, a freshman from Dousman, Wisconsin, will be premiered during the program. A composers’ collective of nine students will perform their own communally created nine-movement work. Bradley faculty performers include oboist Alison Robuck and guitarist Michael Hull. The music director of Peoria Lunaire is Stephen Heinemann.

The mission of Peoria Lunaire is to present new works by undergraduates along with those of established composers.
