March 15, 2013

Historian and author Dr. Anna Clark will give the Armstrong Lecture at Bradley University on Thursday, March 28, at 7 p.m. in the Horowitz Auditorium in the Caterpillar Global Communication Center.

Dr. Clark, professor of history at the University of Minnesota, will discuss sexuality in 20th century Europe, from twilight moments to the sexual revolution and beyond. The presentation is free and open to the public.

Clark is the author of Desire: A History of European Sexuality, Scandal: The Sexual Politics of the British Constitution, and The Struggle for the Breeches: Gender and the Making of the British Working Class.

The Armstrong Lecture, sponsored by the Department of History, is named for William M. Armstrong '47, a Peoria native who attended Bradley in the 1930's and 1940's, interrupted by service in France and the Philippines during World War II.  Armstrong received a master's degree in history from Louisiana State University and his Ph.D. in history from Stanford University.
