Dr. Lori Russell-Chapin received a national award this summer in Washington, D.C., recognizing her for her teaching excellence, engagement with students, creative teaching and research, and mentorship. Nominated by the State of Illinois through the American Mental Health Association, Dr. Russell-Chapin was honored with the Dr. Linda Seligman Counselor Educator of the Year award.

“She has been and continues to be a role model for what a counselor educator can be. Lori shows the impact one can have on students and the profession,” noted her LEHC colleague, Dr. Nancy Sherman.
