Each year, Foster College students have the opportunity to test their developing analytical, critical thinking and leadership skills against those of their peers. Opportunities such as the National Collegiate Sales Competition, the Bradley Sales Contest, Project Springboard, and the International Case Study Competition offer students a way to chart their professional skills against those of students from around the nation and the world.
Bradley University Sales Contest
Sponsored by Northwestern Mutual, Bradley’s Sales Contest provides an exciting professional growth opportunity for both undergraduate and MBA-level students interested in competitive and rewarding careers in professional sales. The top two students from the Bradley Sales Contest are invited to represent Bradley at the National Collegiate Sales Competition. National Collegiate Sales Competition (NCSC)
Each year contestants from more than 50 universities participate in the National Collegiate Sales Competition, held at Kennesaw State University in Atlanta. Geared toward undergraduate and MBA-level students interested in pursuing careers in professional sales, the competition employs competitive role playing of selling situations. A team of four Bradley Foster College students attends each year (two contestants and up to two alternates).
In addition to the competition, contestants participate in several social events as well as the Job Fair. At previous Job Fairs, students interviewed with and received job offers from many organizations, including Liberty Mutual, Standard Register, Supplemental Health Care, ADP, Cisco Systems, Edward Jones, Elk Building Products, Frito-Lay, GlaxoSmithKline, Hewlett-Packard, Hilti, Novartis, Sealy, and Yamaha.
Project Springboard is a business plan competition that encourages the entrepreneurial spirit of Bradley University’s students. Teams of one to five students create a business plan to introduce an innovative product or service. Business plans are evaluated by a group of financial venture capitalists, and cash prizes are awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. In addition, 1st place winners receive approximately $100,000 in business services from area sponsors.
This exciting competition offers students important mentoring opportunities and special resources, software, and workshops. Through the collaboration of area businesses, Project Springboard offers Bradley students a unique opportunity to learn the challenges and rewards of business start-up.

International Case Study Competition
During the annual International Case Study Competition sponsored by the Society for the Advancement of Management (SAM), teams of MBA students from business schools throughout the world create a strategic plan for a specified business. This plan is presented to a panel of judges who question each team on aspects of their plan. Bradley MBA students have secured first place at the International Case Study Competition for three consecutive years (2008, 2009 and 2010).
