Top Actuarial Science Student

Bradley actuarial science alumnus Alex DiVerde ’16 received the Alan C. Williams Leadership Award from actuarial science, insurance and risk management honor society Gamma Iota Sigma.

The award is given each year to a student who “sets the best example for all other members and is our best ‘ambassador’ to the … industries at the international level as well as the local and regional levels.” It is the highest honor the society awards.

DiVerde was secretary of Bradley’s GIS chapter as a freshman, then president for his sophomore, junior and senior years.

“I feel blessed to be in the company of others who have won the award,” he said. “As a student, the previous winners were students I aspired to become and whose examples I followed. It’s surreal to know their example worked.”
