Bradley Student Wins Prestigious Fulbright Award

Bradley University senior Sojourner White has received the prestigious Fulbright U.S. Student Award. White is a senior double major in psychology and Spanish with a minor in women's studies. She is a 2012 graduate of Rufus King International School in Milwaukee, WI.

White will teach English and serve as a cultural ambassador in Spain. The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program of the United States. As a cultural ambassador while overseas, White will help enhance mutual understanding between Americans and the people in Spain. She joins over 100,000 Fulbright U.S. Student Program alumni who have undertaken grants since the program began in 1948.

In recent years, Bradley has been in the top 10 nationally among universities of its type for producing Fulbright students. In addition, 10 current Bradley faculty members have been awarded a Fulbright Scholarship during their careers.

The Fulbright Program is sponsored by the United States Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. The primary source of funding is an annual appropriation made by the United States Congress to the Department of State.

White works as an intern in the International Programs Office on campus for which she recently received one of Bradley's Smith Career Center Outstanding Intern Awards.
