Mission statement. The Division of Continuing Education and Professional Development connects the University with the community through educational programs and services for youth, professionals, and lifelong learners.
In fulfillment of our mission, we develop or support nearly 200 educational programs serving over 11,000 constituents each year. From the 1000+ member Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, to summer classes for gifted students, to conferences for clients on and off campus, Continuing Education annually provides a wide range of high quality instruction. We are also the administrative unit supporting Bradley's summer and interim sessions.
Vision statement. Continuing Education and Professional Development will be an integral part of Bradley's vision to achieve national distinction by providing students of all ages and organizations from across the globe with engaging learning opportunities and outstanding customer service.
Our instructors. Our programs are led not only by subject matter experts from the faculty and staff of Bradley University but also by industry experts.
Our facilities include the resources of Bradley University such as classrooms, dining services, audio visual support, and residence halls. When our programs are delivered away from campus, we work with hotels and conference centers to secure the facilities and services required by the program.
Our team consists of eleven staff including an executive director, an assistant director, a conference services director, a marketing director, two program coordinators, five support staff, and several student workers. Continuing Education also works closely with the staff of the Executive Development Center in the Foster College of Business Administration.
Our organizational structure at Bradley. Continuing Education is a revenue-generating academic unit reporting to the Provost and Vice-President for Academic Affairs. This organizational structure ensures that our work remains closely linked to the strategic imperatives of the University.
How we work with Bradley University departments. Continuing Education provides centralized support to Bradley faculty and staff who wish to offer educational workshops, seminars, and conferences. In this way, the University is assured that programs are consistent with Bradley’s mission, that University resources are appropriately utilized and accounted for, and that service is uniform and cost-effective.
How we work with clients outside Bradley University. We provide support for organizations that host conferences, workshops, and other educational programming. From venue selection and speaker arrangements to websites and secure online registration, our Conference Services work offers a suite of services that can be tailored to the client’s budget and needs.
