About our Department

The Department of Accounting consists of nine faculty and 200 students. Our faculty are specialists. Seven of the faculty hold PhDs, while the other two have master’s degrees and significant professional work experience. All accounting faculty have at least one professional certification (CPA, CMA, CIA, CFE, or CA); several hold two.

Students can declare an accounting major as incoming freshman. Upon entrance to the University, each accounting major is assigned a full-time member of the accounting faculty as his/her advisor. Each semester, professors meet with students to provide help and advice in course selection and career planning. Professors are also available throughout the semester for additional meetings.

The Department of Accounting sponsors two student organizations: the Bradley Accounting Club and Beta Alpha Psi. Both organizations are student-run, providing excellent opportunities for developing and enhancing leadership skills.

The Mission of the Department of Accounting is to prepare students for productive and satisfying careers. The highest priority of the Department is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to commence and continue their careers. Our undergraduate program meets the needs of students seeking accounting careers in private industry and the public sector and lays the foundation for those seeking careers in public practice. Our Master of Science in Accounting program is designed for students entering public practice and for those individuals desiring to further their accounting education.

Bradley University is one of only 182 institutions in the world to have an accounting program that is accredited by AACSB International, The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. AACSB accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement for accounting and business programs worldwide. It means that you have access to the highest quality classes, teachers, and students in the world and that our program is able to continuously pass a strict set of standards that ensure quality.
