DSA participation rate rises to all-time high
June 9, 2010
Membership participation rose to an all-time high for the Dietetic Student Association (DSA), an organization for dietetic and nutrition and wellness majors that focuses on promoting healthy eating and lifestyle patterns. This increase in member participation helped the organization to have a bigger impact on campus.
Members reached out across the Hilltop and across the community through various projects, volunteer opportunities, and fundraisers. Some of these activities included: The Great American Bake Sale, CIDA 5K race, National Nutrition Month posters, residence hall programs, Get Fit Stay Fit seminars, and “healthifying” Jerry’s Juice Bar in the Markin Family Student Recreation Center.
DSA’s overall goal is to provide countless experiences for members to become acclimated into the fields of dietetics or nutrition and wellness. These opportunities build upon their academic knowledge base and boost their confidence, while providing a means to expand their own professional networks.
DSA members hope the newly elected officers will build on the success of this year and make next year “an even greater success.”
