General Family & Consumer Sciences
This individualized curriculum is for students with interest in various areas of family and consumer well-being, as well as outreach. Faculty advisors work with students to design their customized programs composed of relevant coursework, service learning projects and internships.
Students preparing for entrance to a graduate program in Human Development Counseling (HDC) may wish to consider an undergraduate major in General FCS. The study of FCS gives significant background to undergraduate students in cognate areas important to families today. This undergraduate major is articulated with the graduate major in counseling at Bradley with the Department of Educational Leadership and Human Development.
Students are encouraged to consider a complementary second major or minor to correspond to their career interests or goals. For example, students interested in family/child development should consider courses in psychology and sociology as suggested by an academic advisor.
