Scholarships

Thanks to many generous supporters of the Department of Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering & Technology, nearly $65,000 in departmental scholarships are awarded annually to undergraduate students enrolled in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering Technology.

Several scholarships may be awarded based on need. You need to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) form either over the web or through the Bradley University Office of Student Financial Aid.

In order to apply for the IMET scholarships, please (1) click the button below, (2) download the scholarship application form, (3) complete the form and (4) submit it electronically (please read the instruction in the form). The deadlines vary year by year. Please contact the department if you have any questions regarding the application deadlines and application procedures.

Duane and Arlene Brighton Scholarship at Bradley University

The available principle and earnings shall be used to award scholarships to deserving student(s) meeting the following eligibility criteria:

  1. The student(s) must be enrolled full-time and must be in good academic standing and making satisfactory progress toward B.S.Mf.E or M.S.Mf.E.
  2. Preference is given to student(s) with demonstrated financial need as determined by the office of financial assistance.
  3. The student(s) should be a member of the student chapter of SME.
  4. Award selection will be made in the IMET department with the consultation of the office of financial assistance in accordance with the restrictions outlined in this scholarship agreement.

Caterpillar Manufacturing Scholarship

Manufacturing education development

Scholarships will be awarded to deserving students seeking a B.S.Mf.E, B.S.Mf.E.T., or M.S. MFE degree in the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering and Technology.

Kodak Scholarship

The basis for this award will be the IE faculty’s perceived potential for the student’s professional potential as an IE. Factors included but not limited to grades, personality, maturity, leadership ability, and thoroughness will be weighed. This award will not be given based on financial need. The scholarship may be awarded to any undergraduate IE major, although upper-class students (junior-senior) will be given preference.

The Rita A. Newton Women in Engineering Endowed Scholarship

The available earnings shall be used to award scholarships to deserving student(s) meeting the following eligibility criteria:

  1. The student(s) must be enrolled at Bradley University and in good academic standing.
  2. Preference given to female engineering students who are pursuing an industrial engineering degree.

Society of Manufacturing Engineers – Peoria

This award is available to all students regardless of age, race, or gender. The available earnings shall be used to award scholarships to deserving student(s) meeting the following eligibility criteria:

  1. The student(s) must be enrolled full-time and must be in good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  2. Preference given to student(s) with demonstrated financial need as determined by the office of financial assistance.
  3. Preference given to student(s) who are making satisfactory progress toward a B.S. in manufacturing engineering, manufacturing engineering technology or industrial engineering technology or industrial engineering. Preference given to individuals with a family background in manufacturing.
  4. Preference is given to student(s) who are members of the student chapter of SME.
  5. Preference given to U.S. citizens.
