Game Design

This represents a suggested 4-year progression through the Game Design Concentration, effective Fall 2013. It is also acceptable to take courses in different semesters if they are offered, dependent on individual circumstances and goals, as long as course prerequisites are met. Consult with your Interactive Media (IM) Advisor each semester to ensure you take required courses in the correct sequences.

  • Successful completion of 124 semester hours with 40 hours at the junior/senior level are required to graduate from the University.
  • "General Education Requirements" are specified by the University. "Electives" may be IM courses, CFA courses, minor requirements, or any courses bearing credits toward the overall graduation requirements.
  • A "C" or better is required in each required IM and ART course listed below.
  • Students must have a 2.50 GPA (cumulative) for all courses required for the major to graduate with an IM degree.

Dr. Monica McGill is the coordinator for the Game Design concentration. She teaches game design and development and has researched game degree programs at universities in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada. She has presented and published her work at national and international conferences. Dr. McGill has brought the Global Game Jam to Bradley and has established student excursions to the Game Developers Conference.  She advises all Game design students at Bradley in both course selection as well as developing skills sought by the game industry through extracurricular activities.
