Dolores Wenzel Receives Maggie Reichelderfer Professional Service Award

Mrs. Delores Wenzel, MSN, RN, was recognized at ceremonies April 5, 2014 on Bradley's Campus when she received the Maggie Reichelderfer Professional Service Award from the Epsilon Epsilon Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau.

The Maggie Reichelderfer Professional Service Award is given each year to an outstanding nursing leader who exemplifies the core values of the profession and has used his or her skills to make positive change in the community.  Mrs. Wenzel was introduced to the audience during the Epsilon Epsilon Chapter's annual induction ceremony by Dr. Francesca Armmer who shared a list of accomplishments that demonstrated her commitment to our profession.  During the ceremony Mrs. Wenzel provided an address to new inductees "Sustaining Core Values" that served as a wonderful reminder to all nurses of who we are and how we move forward.

Sigma Theta Tau International is the honor society of nursing, founded in 1922 at Indiana University.  There are now over 450 chapters in colleges and universities in the United States and other countries.  Epsilon Epsilon Chapter was chartered on May 4, 1980 at Bradley University as chapter number 123.  The purposes of Sigma Theta Tau are to recognize superior achievement and leadership qualities, to foster high professional standards, encourage creative work and strengthen commitment to the ideals and purposes of the profession.
