Why Choose Psychology?

Psychology is a popular major nationwide.  Its subject matter encompasses the thought and behavior, both typical and pathological, of adults, children, and even other species.  The scientific method is the unifying thread of the discipline as Psychologists utilize it to systematically answer the questions raised by human behavior.

Given the breadth of the subject matter of Psychology, it is not surprising that our majors pursue a variety of career paths upon graduation. A recent survey of our alumni revealed a wide range of occupational positions in medical, social service, legal, business, research, and education settings.   The survey also revealed our graduates’ satisfaction with their occupational choices and with their education as a psychology major at Bradley.   The Psychology Department has a rich history of cultivating in students the foundational skills necessary for pursuing excellence in these various career paths.
