Students who choose the K-12 Programs major may elect to major in Art or Music.
Individuals aspiring to teach art or music matriculate in the Slane College of Communication and Fine Arts. Degrees in the major are awarded through this college. The core courses required to teach at the K - 12 levels are taught through their major department and the Department of Teacher Education. Candidates have an advisor in their major as well as in the Department of Teacher Education.
Art students must take coursework as required for the B.A. , B.S., or B.F.A.
Music students must take coursework as required for the B.M.E. (Bachelor of Music Education) degree that includes a music concentration of 74 - 77 hours.
