"The Loving Story" and Nancy Buirski comes to Bradley

As part of Bradley's civil rights commemoration, the History Department will screen the  2011 documentary "The Loving Story" on Wednesday, April 9, from 7 to 9 p.m. in Neumiller Hall in Bradley Hall. The film's director, Nancy Buirski, will be present to introduce her film and answer the audience's questions afterwards. "The Loving Story" concerns the landmark 1967 Supreme Court case Loving vs. Virginia, in which an interracial married couple brought about the end of anti-miscegenation laws in the United States. The film was a critical success and recently won the 2013 Emmy for Outstanding Historical Programming. Its creator, Nancy Buirski, is an independent filmmaker living in Durham, N.C. who previously founded the influential Full Frame Documentary Film Festival. Please join us for this important event.
