Religious Life

Although Lydia Moss Bradley, in founding the University, stipulated that it should remain nonsectarian, she did provide in the charter for the development of “the principles of morality and right living as exemplified in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.” With this nonsectarian background, the University is making an increasingly vigorous effort to provide for its students a program conducive to the development of character, morality, and high principles. This program is carried on through student religious organizations on campus and numerous courses in religion.

If a student should have to miss class due to a religious holiday, the student must notify the instructor at least one week prior to that class.
