As a professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Human Development at Bradley, Lori Russell-Chapin teaches a number of counseling courses, including Introduction to Human Development Counseling, Pre-practicum, Practicum, and Internship. Her current research includes writing a clinical supervision textbook to be published in March of 2009 by Cengage Learning. She has co-authored a book with Allen Ivey used for Practicum and Internship classes and in 2007, her book, Writing Your Grief Story: A Healing Journey of Loss and Love, was published.
Lori is an award winning professor who loves teaching and learning with students. Her teaching style tends to be interactive, and she frequently uses group projects, the best projects seem to be the ones in which students are involved with members in the community. She consults with many agencies and organizations in the Peoria and surrounding area. Dr. Russell-Chapin was the department chair for 11 years and currently holds the position of associate dean of the College of Education and Health Sciences. She maintains a private counseling practice on a part-time basis where she focuses on couples and individual concerns.
Dr. Russell-Chapin received her PhD in counseling education from the University of Wyoming in 1987. Her master’s in counseling is from Eastern Montana College, and her undergraduate degree in psychology is from the University of Wyoming. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the State of Illinois, a National Certified Counselor, a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor, an Approved Clinical Supervisor, and a Family Mediator. |
