The graduate nursing program educates professional nurses for
advanced practice in hospitals, community health settings, nursing
homes, and other health-related agencies.
The program combines core and research courses. Students choose
one of two majors: nurse administered anesthesia, which prepares
nurses for advanced practice in nursing care and write for the certification
examination for certified registered nurse anesthetists; or nursing
administration, which prepares nurses for first-line management
as administrators in a range of health care settings. Our graduate
program is accredited by the National
League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and the Council
on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs.
Admission
Admission to the MSN program is coordinated through the graduate
admissions office. Follow the
regular admission procedures for graduate programs. If you have
academic questions, feel free to contact
us.
Full- and part-time
Degree requirements can be met on a full-time or part-time
basis, with the exception of the anesthesia internship, which must
be completed on a full-time basis. Graduation requirements for both
of the concentrations must be completed within five years of
enrollment.
