Bill
McGehee teaches in several areas throughout the Department of Physical
Therapy and Health Science. As the Academic Coordinator of Clinical
Education for the MPT program, he is primarily responsible for all
phases and aspects of clinical education. Areas of teaching include
patient examination and The Guide to Physical Therapist Practice,
therapeutic exercise, health care reimbursement structure and third
party reimbursement, and professional issues in physical therapy.
His research interests include endurance testing and intervention
in geriatric patients. In addition, he has been examining issues
related to reimbursement for physical therapy services, access to
health care, and the relationship between reimbursement and clinical
decision-making. He is currently a PhD student in public policy
and administration with a concentration in health care policy at
Saint Louis University.
Background
Professor McGehee continues to treat patients on a part-time basis
in home health. He is actively involved in the Illinois Physical
Therapy Association, serving as treasurer, a member of the Executive
and Finance Committee, and chairperson for the IPTA Political Action
Committee. He is a credentialed clinical trainer for the APTA Clinical
Instructor and Credentialing Program and is active in the APTA Clinical
Education Special Interest Group.
Bill is married to Lisa, a graduate of Bradleys Nursing program
(2001). They have four children, one girl and three boys. He enjoys
spending time with his family, reading, and focusing on anything
related to politics, and he recently began taking guitar lessons.

Professor McGehee has a BS in zoology with an option in athletic
training from Eastern Illinois University (1987), a BS in physical
therapy from Bradley (1995), and a Master of Health Science (MHS)
from University of Indianapolis (2001). |
