Meeting requirements for admission to the Graduate School does not guarantee admission to a graduate program. Individual programs may have additional admission requirements. Please refer to the Graduate Catalog or the Program page on this web site for the requirements specific to the program in which you are interested.
Please see the Application for Graduate Admission and the appropriate Application Check-List to find out what application materials are required by the Graduate School. Graduate Students-at-Large should note that acceptance as a graduate student-at-large does not constitute admission to a degree or certificate program, and does not imply permission to register for any particular class. In order to register for any class, a graduate student-at-large must meet any prerequisite requirement and may have to have the permission of the graduate program coordinator and instructor. When enrolling in a course, the instructor may want to review copies of your transcripts and catalog course descriptions in order to determine that you have fulfilled all course prerequisites.
Recommended Application Deadlines
The Graduate School processes applications on a rolling (continuous) basis for most programs in the Graduate School. A review of your application cannot be ensured unless the application and all supporting materials are received a minimum of two weeks prior to the start of the term for which you are applying.
The following programs do have specific application deadlines:
- DPT: November 1 for the following summer I term
- MFA/MA-Art: April 1 for fall admissions and November 1 for spring admissions
- Nurse Administered Anesthesia: September 1 for the following fall term
For all other programs, the recommended date by which applications and supporting materials should be sent to the Graduate School by those already in the United States are as follows:
May 15th for fall admission
October 15th for spring admission
April 15th for summer admission
Applications and materials will be accepted after the above dates, however, a review of your application cannot be ensured unless the application and all supporting materials are received a minimum of two weeks prior to the start of the term for which you are applying.
For those individuals who wish to apply for a graduate assistantship, please have your application and all supporting materials, including your Graduate Assistantship application, returned to the Graduate School by April 1 for the following fall term.
NOTE: CATERPILLAR FELLOWSHIP APPLICANTS NEED TO APPLY BY FEB. 1 preceding the Fall semester.
