Academic Exploration Program for undecided students
THIS WAS IT
Private… smaller school… near a big city…a lot of academic programs….It was everything I was looking for. So, I visited. The second I got to Bradley, I knew that this is where I wanted to go.
I WANTED TO BE FAR AWAY FROM HOME
I found out about Bradley through an independent counselor. I told him what my criteria for colleges were and I wanted to be away from home. The counselor narrowed down my criteria and gave me a list of schools to research, and Bradley was one of them. I had never heard about Bradley before, but when I went online to look up the colleges on my list, I was really impressed. It was everything I was looking for.
THERE WAS NO DOUBT IN MY MIND
I visited campus in August of my senior year. The second I got here, I knew this is where I wanted to go. I applied online in October, and knew by November that I was accepted and coming to Bradley. There was no doubt in my mind. I applied to four other schools, three private and one public, mostly on the east coast, except for Bradley.
I really came here because of the people. Everyone was so nice and had a friendly personality. It definitely was a homey feeling. I get along with my roommate, and I know that this is where I want to be.
I applied to the Academic Exploration Program (AEP). I wasn't really sure what I wanted to major in, so having the option of choosing AEP was one reason why I came here. I've been able to take courses that meet my general education requirements, as well as the major I'm thinking of choosing.
FINDING MY MAJOR
I applied to the Academic Exploration Program (AEP). I wasn't really sure what I wanted to major in, so having the option of choosing AEP was among the reasons why I came here. I've been able to take courses that meet my general education requirements, as well as in the Health Science major.
The AEP program helped me pick my major in my fourth semester. After doing an internship at a physical therapy facility, I decided I wanted to explore other areas that would be a better fit for me in the medical profession.
In my junior year, I decided to study abroad for the semester. The Bradley Study Abroad program helped me find a program best fit for me and I ended up studying in Copenhagen, Denmark. It has been a great experience. I have been able to study with Danish professors, become immersed in the Danish lifestyle and culture by living with a host family, and travel throughout Europe.
BRADLEY IN NEW YORK
When I tell people back home in New York that I'm at Bradley, they say, “How cool, they have an awesome basketball team that made it to the sweet sixteen a few years ago, right?” Then I tell
Them, “Yes, that’s us! Bradley's a very friendly small Midwestern school with a great basketball team.
PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER
In addition to choosing a major that really fit's my interest and studying abroad, the best experience I have had at Bradley is being a part of the Women's club soccer team. I was able to continue playing the sport I love at a collegiate level and form many new friendships with my teammates. We had the opportunity to travel to Colorado to play in a tournament and travel to other schools in the Midwestern as well. Another great experience for me during my years here has been getting involved in Greek life. Greek life has helped me to develop my leadership and communication skills, as well as making me a well-rounded individual.
