Bradley’s Department of Civil Engineering and Construction offers an ACCE-accredited Bachelor of Science in Construction that prepares students for graduate school or immediate success as professionals in the construction industry. Graduates may be involved with estimating, supervision in the field, scheduling, and coordinating with the other professionals that service the industry such as attorneys, bankers, owners and designers.
The department has outstanding relationships with their industrial partners. The unique and highly regarded Center for Emerging Technologies in Infrastructure (CETI) sponsors annual conferences in:
- innovations in construction
Prestigious practitioners and academicians from all over the world attend these conferences. Students have the opportunity to network with professionals during the CETI center conferences that they can attend free-of-charge or at a reduced rate.
Participation in The Construction Club and Sigma Lambda Chi (The Construction Honor Society) organizations help the students to develop leadership skills and become good citizens in a global society. Students in the program can participate in service activities such as:
- building playgrounds
- building homes for the needy
- the unique “Bridge Pal” Program
Construction majors may participate in the Global Explorer Program. This program is designed to expand professional capabilities, stimulate intellectual growth, and broaden personal perspectives through international travel and scholarship. The Department of Civil Engineering is the only department which offers financial support for eligible students who want to travel abroad. Programs are available to construction students in Egypt and England where courses are offered within the field, including:
- Cost Estimating
- Asphalt Technology
- Mechanics of Materials
- Advanced Cost Estimating
Bradley's Construction graduates enjoy a consistently strong job outlook, with typical placement rates of 100% within six months.
