These costs for full-time students taking 12-16 credit hours per semester comprise the direct annual costs of attending Bradley University. Some courses may require additional fees. Indirect costs, such as books, transportation and personal supplies, vary from student to student, but average $3,000.

In addition, International Students are required to have mandatory health insurance through a US-based carrier. We recommend purchasing a policy before departing to the US. Scholarships

International students may qualify for academic and talent based scholarships.  The following awards for freshman students entering in the Fall 2014 semester are based solely on academic performance without regard to financial need. Award levels are guaranteed for qualified students whose admission applications are complete by March 15.  Bradley does not provide any need based assistance for international students.

Scholarships for Freshman Students:

Presidential Scholarship

$48,000 over four years

Top scholars who score 28 or higher on the ACT, or 1260 or higher on the SAT, are considered for these prestigious awards. Presidential Scholars have a minimum high school GPA of 3.75 and demonstrate leadership and service in their schools and communities.

Deans Scholarship

$36,000 over four years

Recipients of the Deans Scholarship score 25 to 27 on the ACT (or 1150 to 1250 on the SAT), have a minimum high school GPA of at least 3.5, and are active in service to their schools and communities.

University Scholarship

$24,000 over four years

A number of criteria are used in awarding the University Scholarship including academic achievement, leadership, and school and community service. University Scholars score 22 to 24 on the ACT (or 1030 to 1140 on the SAT), have a 3.25 or higher grade point average, with preference given to students ranking in the top quarter of their high school class.

Achievement Scholarship

$12,000 over four years

A number of criteria are used in awarding the Achievement Scholarship including leadership, and school and community service. Achievement Scholarship recipients rank in the top third of their high school class, have a 3.0 or higher grade point average, and have ACT and SAT scores consistent with classroom performance.

Caterpillar Employee Dependents Scholarship

These scholarships benefit the dependent children of Caterpillar employees, retirees, and deceased employees. Scholarship amounts are determined by Bradley's Office of Financial Assistance and range up to $2,500. Recipients must be attending Bradley as full-time undergraduate students. Applications must be submitted for each academic year. To be assured of full consideration, it is recommended that you submit your application no later than March 1. Legacy Scholarship

This $1500 scholarship is automatically awarded to children, step-children and grandchildren of Bradley graduates. Eligibility is determined at the time of application for admission. Full-time status is required and recipients must remain in good academic standing for renewal. The Legacy Scholarship requires full-time attendance (12 or more hours per semester) and can be applied toward tuition only.

Fine Arts Recognition Awards

Awards up to $4000 per year are available to students majoring in art, theatre and music or participating in competitive speech (Forensics). Awards up to $500 are also available to non-music majors selected for one of our many instrumental and vocal performance groups. Consideration for fine arts recognition awards requires an audition or submission of a portfolio.

*Applicants with lower class ranks (or no rank) receive consideration based on grade point average, curriculum and competitiveness of their high schools. Applicants with lower test scores and extraordinary academic performance are also considered for scholarships.

Scholarships for Transfer Students:

Transfer Excellence Scholarship

New transfer students who have earned a minimum of 45 transferable semester hours and 3.5/4.0 GPA from an accredited college or university will be automatically awarded a $5,000 scholarship. This scholarship replaces the Transfer and Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships. Recipients must maintain full-time status. The Transfer Excellence Scholarship requires full-time attendance (12 or more hours per semester) and can be applied toward tuition only.

Phi Theta Kappa

New transfer students who have been recognized for their academic performance through membership in the Phi Theta Kappa Honorary Society receive an additional $1,000 above their Transfer Scholarship, for a total award of $5,000. Recipients must maintain full-time status. The Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship requires full-time attendance (12 or more hours per semester) and can be applied toward tuition only.

Transfer Scholarship

Scholarships up to $4,000 are awarded to new transfer students who have earned a minimum of 24 transferable semester hours and 3.0/4.0 GPA from an accredited college or university. Recipients must maintain full-time status. The Transfer Scholarship requires full-time attendance (12 or more hours per semester) and can be applied toward tuition only.
