BU Theatre 2013 – 2014 Season Performances

Opens September 26, 2013
SIDE SHOW
Book & Lyrics by Bill Russell
Music by Henry Krieger (Dreamgirls)
The boldly theatrical musical based on the lives of the celebrated Hilton Sisters, Daisy and
Violet: conjoined twins whose triumphant and tragic lives ranged from the freak shows and
carnival tents of Depression-era America to the stages of Vaudeville and the cameras of
Hollywood.
"Daring and Enthralling"
(NY Times)

Opens November 14, 2013
BIG LOVE
by Charles Mee, Jr.
Fifty reluctant Greek brides flee to Italy, seeking asylum from their arranged
marriages. Fifty determined grooms pursue them by helicopter. Total theatre ensues in
this epic, modern retelling of the very first western drama: Aeschylus'
The Suppliants.
" Comedic, gymnastic, musical, sensual, shocking, and redemptive."
(NY Times)

Opens February 27, 2014
CLYBOURNE PARK
by Bruce Norris
Winner of the 2012 Pulitzer Prize
The acclaimed, sensationally provocative play that revisits the world of Lorraine Hansberry's
monumental drama, A Raisin in the Sun, turns it inside out and asks, in two charged acts
separated by 50 years, how much has really changed.
" . . . as in 'Raisin,' "it shows how people fail to
communicate honestly until it is too late, and how their
dreams become warped out of shape."
(Chicago Sun Times)

Opens April 24, 2014
THE RIVALS
by Richard Brinsley Sheridan
The ultimate comedy of manners, this perennial favorite has galvanized actors and regaled
audiences since its Covent Garden premiere in 1775. With its hilarious episodes of
mistaken identity, withering satire of amorous intrigue, dizzying plot twists, and beloved
characters like Lydia Languish, Captain Jack Absolute and the unforgettable Mrs.
Malaprop, this springtime treat is a comedy festival in itself.

The Bradley Red Sea is a student organization that supports all Bradley athletic teams and provides rewards to members for attending sporting events throughout the year. Men's basketball season tickets are only available for purchase through the Red Sea. A Red Sea membership costs $30 for the first year and includes a t-shirt; tickets to all men's basketball games that occur while classes are in session; reserved prime seating in the student section at men’s basketball games; and opportunities to win prizes and a seat on the road trip based on the number of events attended.

Individual game tickets will be available for purchase at a cost of $1 for games during the holiday break. Red Sea membership applications are available beginning in June at the Renaissance Coliseum ticket office or online at www.BradleyRedSea.com.
Individual game tickets for basketball will be available in November and are $1 each. Seating is general admission and is provided on a first come-first serve basis. A Bradley student ID is required to purchase tickets at the student price and "friend tickets" are also available at half the regular public's price. “Friend tickets” are subject to availability and are not available during post-season play.

Admission to baseball, women's basketball, soccer, and volleyball is free to all students with a valid Bradley student ID. Student tickets are available in advance at the Renaissance Coliseum ticket office or at the event site on the day of the game. Free bus transportation for men’s basketball (Carver Arena) and soccer (Shea Stadium) is provided at the Michel Student Center beginning one-hour prior to events.
