The LJB Center Partners with FamilyCore for L.E.A.D. Event

April 5, 2011

Fellows, LINCS, and FISH! © Philosophers of the Lewis J. Burger Center collaborated in the creation of a brand new event: L.E.A.D. The event, which took place in the Markin Center, hosted children from FamilyCore's Child Welfare and Outreach programs of Peoria. With a mixture of games, leadership activities, food, exploring and fun, the goal of the event was to simply provide a fun and memorable day for these children.

On Saturday, March 26th, the entire Lewis J. Burger Center family came together and reached out to over 15 kids in the Peoria area. The event L.E.A.D., "Lead, Explore, Achieve, Dream", brought children away from their troubled homes for a day and to Bradley's campus where they spent time learning, laughing and growing with some of our campus leaders. The day consisted of quality bonding time between the kids, Fellows and LINCS. The children played many games, participated in leadership exercises, and were given a tour of the Bradley campus. The Philosophers presented great lessons and everyone who participated learned something new while having a great time. Every child willingly participated and many went over and beyond what we had expected. This event was a success and we hope to make it even bigger and better next year!
