LEE NEWTON

 

Lee Newton holds a B.A. from Bradley University and a M. F. A. from George Mason University. Twice nominated for a Pushcart Prize, he has received a fellowship from the Illinois Arts Council and a Lannan Fellowship from the Folger Shakespeare Library. He has won Amaranth's Editor's Choice Award and been a finalist for the Charles Johnson Award in Poetry and the Virginia Down's Poetry Prize. His most recent creative and scholarly works has appeared in Pleiades, Wisconsin Review, Lowell Review, Crab Orchard Review, Phoebe, and the Asian Pacific American Journal. Currently completing a poetry manuscript Everything Broken and a play entitled Hana, he serves on the Editorial Advisory Board for Collegiate English.

 

 

The Department is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Kevin Stein to the position of Illinois Poet Laureate.
English majors are encouraged to take the American or English Studies Abroad Program for one or two semesters.
