Chorale Spring Tour Takes Place March 10 through 13

The Bradley University Chorale will present concerts in the Chicago area and northern Illinois during its annual spring tour March 10-13.  Venues will include:

The concert presented by the 45-member choir and string ensemble from Bradley University in Peoria, will feature a wedding cantata by J. S. Bach as well as music by Palestrina, Gorczycki, Robert Applebaum, Stephen Hatfield, James Furman, music by central Illinois composers, and music from Haiti and Sweet Honey on the Rock.

 

The Bradley Chorale has performed across the United States and Europe, winning national and international recognition.  The ensemble has performed often for state and regional music educator conventions.  In 2013 the Chorale toured in southern Spain and toured in Denmark in 2016.

 

Dr. John Jost, director of the Bradley Chorale and professor of music at Bradley, earned his undergraduate and advanced degrees at Stanford University and taught in California, New York, and Haiti before arriving at Bradley in 1989.  He has served as principal violist of the Peoria Symphony and for many years directed a summer music camp in Haiti.  He is also co-founder and artistic director of the Peoria Bach Festival.  He has won awards for teaching, achievement, and service from Bradley, the American Choral Directors Association, and the Haitian Ministry of Culture.
