At what is considered the oldest and most prestigious public speaking competition in the nation, Bradley University's Abby Surprenant placed 4th in the nation at the 143rd Annual Interstate Oratory Contest.

Surprenant is a Junior at Bradley studying Organizational Communication from Marshall, MN.

Only two students from each state are eligible to compete at the contest. She qualified for the contest by winning Oratory at the Illinois Intercollegiate Forensics Association State Tournament in March. At the state contest, Abby also won Communication Analysis.
