Doctor of Physical Therapy program is ranked in top 100

Bradley University's Doctor of Physical Therapy program is ranked among the top 100 in the nation. U.S. News and World Report released its ranking of graduate schools for physical therapy and Bradley's program comes in at 79. The program was not ranked last year.

The rankings are based solely on the results of peer assessment surveys sent to deans, other administrators and/or faculty at accredited degree programs or schools in each discipline.

The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program was instituted in 2005 after offering a master’s degree in physical therapy from 2000 through 2005. It is a three year program with academic coursework consisting of basic and applied sciences along with other courses that prepare the graduate as an autonomous practitioner. Included in the 105 credit hours are 35 weeks of full time clinical rotations. Clinical sites are available throughout the Midwest along with opportunities across the country.

In June 2015, Bradley's DPT orthopedic residency received accreditation through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties becoming the first of its kind in downstate Illinois. Earlier this year, the department received a $4500 grant from the Community Foundation of Central Illinois that made possible the purchase of equipment for the department's new Clinic for Fitness and Function.
