Student and Officer Recognized for Saving a Life

November 23, 2016

The quick actions of a student trained in CPR helped save the life of a student who went into cardiac arrest on campus.  Brianna Seeberger, a senior at Bradley, was walking through Olin Hall when she heard someone yell "call 9-1-1". Trained in CPR, Brianna knew she had to help and she jumped into action. She pulled the student out from under the table where he had collapsed and began giving him breaths and compressions.

Within moments, Bradley Police Officer Sean Savage arrived on scene and took over CPR until the paramedics arrived.  The paramedics used an AED to fully resuscitate the student, who is currently continuing his recovery.

Seeberger and Savage were recognized by Advanced Medical Transport with a Community Resuscitation Award.  Josh Bradshaw, Community Resource Manager with AMT presented the awards at a small ceremony at the BUPD.  Bradley has nearly 30 AED's on campus, several recently donated by AMT.

Student Brianna Seeberger and Office Sean Savage receive their awards from AMT's Josh Bradshaw.
