Recital To Feature Brahms Masterpieces

The Chambana Arts Trio will present a recital titled “Summer of 1886: Brahms at Lake Thun” on Saturday, March 28, at 7:30 p.m. in Dingeldine Music Center, located at 1417 W. Barker Avenue. Admission is free and open to the public.

The recital will feature Johannes Brahms' three chamber masterpieces: Cello Sonata No. 2 in F Major, Op. 99; Violin Sonata No, 2 in A Major, Op. 100; and the Piano Trio No. 3 in C Minor, Op. 101. These works were all written during the summer of 1886 during Brahms’ stay at Lake Thun in Switzerland.

The Chambana Arts Trio, formed in 2014, includes violinist Aaron Jacobs, cellist Ka-Wai Yu, and pianist Tatiana Shustova, who met during their doctoral studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In addition to their concert at Bradley, they will perform at Eastern Illinois University, Illinois College, and as part of a global mission benefit in Urbana-Champaign.
