Saxophone Quartets, Quintet Will Play Recital

The Bradley University saxophone quartets and quintet will play a free recital on Monday, November 21, at 7:30 p.m. in the Dingeldine Music Center, located at 1417 W. Barker Avenue.

Quartet I is composed of freshmen playing 2 alto, one tenor, and one baritone sax. Quartet II is composed of the more traditional French quartet makeup of one soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones. The Quintet consists of a French quartet makeup plus an additional alto voice.

The program will consist of both original and transcribed works from the standard saxophone quartet repertoire while the Quintet's music will be drawn from transcriptions of Bach, Beethoven, Debussy, and Faure' drawn from the personal library of the professional Illinois Saxophone Quintet which Keith Zimmerman, Bradley saxophone teacher, has long been leader.
