Cybersecurity Film Series
In 2019, the Center for Cybersecurity began highlighting important cybersecurity issues through documentary films as part of its inaugural Cybersecurity Film Series. Films are shown throughout October in conjunction with Cybersecurity Awareness Month. Students, faculty, staff, and members of the community are welcome to attend any showing. After each film, attendees are encouraged to ask questions and discuss topics from the film in our post-film Q&A session.
2023 Cybersecurity Film Series
All films will be shown in the Marty Theatre, located in the Michel Student Center. Attendance is free and popcorn will be provided. This year's slate of films consists of the following:
October 4th, 2023 - Enemy of the State (1998)
A lawyer becomes targeted by a corrupt politician and his N.S.A. goons when he accidentally receives key evidence to a politically motivated crime.
October 11th, 2023 - Unknown: Killer Robots (2023)
This documentary follows the terrifying behind-the-scenes of military-funded scientists racing to build this technology, as Artificial intelligence infiltrates every level of the armed forces.
October 18th, 2023 - Gattaca (1997)
A genetically inferior man assumes the identity of a superior one in order to pursue his lifelong dream of space travel.
October 25, 2023 - The Codebreaker (2021)
The work of cryptanalyst Elizebeth Smith Friedman brings down Al Capone, breaks up a Nazi spy ring in South America, and lays the foundation for the National Security Agency (NSA).
