Hernan Gutierrez

Hernan Gutierrez is a morning news reporter for WISH-TV in Indianapolis. He is a 2021 graduate of the Charley Steiner School of Sports Communication.

While earning his degree, he completed internships at FOX Sports and ESPN. Thanks to the school's connections, he freelanced with NBC Sports for the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics. Upon graduating, Gutierrez took his first on-air job at KWQC-TV in Davenport, Iowa.

He's tackled notional stories like the 2022 midterm elections and 2024 presidential primaries. He was also on the ground for a deadly building collapse in Davenport, which made headlines across the country. 

Locally he's focused on labor disputes and city hall proceedings. His background in sports has helped his news coverage of the Indianapolis Colts and Pacers, a PGA Tour event and most recently the 2024 NBA All-Star Game.
