Teaching

Dr. Yang teaches courses related to pedagogies and methodologies of teaching English as a Second Language learners, assessment, diversity in society, and human language development.

Scholarship

Dr. Yang has her research interests in second language acquisition and teacher education. She is particularly interested in using technology in language learning. Her recent research focuses onteachers’ professional development which canhave great impact on their teaching and relationships with students. Her research is grounded in mixed-method approaches. She has been participating in research projects that contribute to inclusive education to better accommodate students with various characters and backgrounds.

Service

Dr. Yang has been actively participating in different professional organizations such as American Educational Research Association (AERA), Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), and Computer Assisted Language Instruction Consortium (CALICO).

Licensures and Certifications

Dr. Yang completed her Ph. D. in second, foreign, and multilingual language education at the Ohio State University. She has been teaching second language education courses at Bradley University. She is very interested in teacher education and has had many research projects with pre-service teachers.
