Graduate Admissions Requirements

Material Details
Application FeeA non-refundable application fee of $40 must be submitted. Applications will not be processed until the fee has been received. Bradley University does not offer application fee waivers.
Admission EssayApplicants must provide a short essay addressing the following topics:

Explain achievements and work experience that you consider relevant to your interest in and capacity for graduate study.

Briefly state your career objectives and how the graduate program you have selected will assist you in attaining these goals.

Your program may have different requirements for the essay – please read the instructions in the application carefully.
RecommendationsA minimum of two recommendations must be submitted as part of the online application. Some programs require additional recommendations; please refer to the program pages for specific information. The recommendation requests are sent electronically as soon as you enter them in your application.
Resume/CVThe resume is not required by all programs. However, it’s very helpful in making admissions decisions, so we recommend all applicants submit one.
Transcripts and Proof of DegreeUnofficial transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended are required. Official transcripts are only required if you are admitted and plan to enroll. Applicants applying as non-degree students are required to provide transcripts from their highest degree completed only. If you do submit official transcripts, electronic delivery to gradadmission@bradley.edu is preferred.
Standardized Test Scores (TOEFL, GRE, GMAT or MAT)If your program requires a standardized test score, the official score must be sent directly to the Office of Admission by the testing agency. Bradley’s institutional code for TOEFL and GRE score reporting is 1070.

Program Specific Application Requirements

The following programs require additional information or requirements for applications to be complete:

  • Three professional and/or academic letters of references. At least one professional reference must be from a current supervisor.
  • Valid GRE or MAT test score if Graduate Admission GPA evaluation is less than 3.0
  • One additional electronic recommendation (total of three)
  • Valid GRE or MAT test score if Graduate Admission GPA evaluation is less than 3.0
  • Admission into the Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics Program requires a cumulative GPA of 3.0, although conditional admission is an option in some cases.
  • Prerequisites:
  • If you completed your undergraduate degree at a non-U.S. institution, you must also submit a credential evaluation which meets the program accreditor’s requirements.   • DPD verification statement OR completion of prerequisites below
  • Non-DPD prerequisites (must be completed prior to admission OR with the condition to complete coursework prior to starting program/specified course):
  • Anatomy and Physiology (minimum of 6 hours)
  • Advanced metabolism (must include both macro and micronutrients)
  • Servsafe certification (or equivalent)
  • Medical terminology (or completion of program approved certificate)
  • Completion of at least one semester of calculus

  • Undergraduate degree with a major in electrical or computer engineering
  • Undergraduate degree with a major in mechanical engineering or related field.

  • Completion of the following coursework:
  • 16 semester hours of biology beyond first year biology
  • One semester of organic chemistry
  • One semester of physics
  • One semester of calculus
  • Undergraduate degree with a major in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field with one year of college-level calculus and physics
  • A cumulative GPA of 2.75 in undergraduate chemistry courses and a C or better in each of the following courses and their accompanying labs:
  • General chemistry
  • Organic chemistry (two semesters)
  • Analytical chemistry (one semester)
  • Physical chemistry (one semester), inorganic chemistry, or biochemistry
  • Undergraduate degree with a major in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field with one year of college-level calculus and physics
  • A cumulative GPA of 2.75 in undergraduate chemistry courses and a C or better in each of the following courses and their accompanying labs:
  • General chemistry
  • Organic chemistry (two semesters)
  • Analytical chemistry (one semester)
  • Résumé or CV
  • Completion of the following coursework:
  • One semester of calculus
  • One semester of statistics
  • Two semesters of computer programming
  • For admission in Fall 2025 or later, GRE scores are optional. If you choose to submit GRE scores, they must be sent directly to the Office of Admission by the testing agency. Bradley’s institutional code for score reporting is 1070.
  • Résumé or CV
  • Completion of the following coursework:
  • Discrete mathematics
  • At least two semesters of calculus, matrix, or linear algebra
  • At least one semester of calculus-based statistic
  • At least 15 hours of computer science coursework including knowledge of one structured or object-oriented programming language, elementary data structures, assembly language, advanced data structures, and introductory computer architecture
