Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

The Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion exists to lead transformational change that affirms our commitment to fostering a sense of identity and belonging for everyone in the Bradley University community. We commit to intentionally supporting and advocating for all members of OUR community, especially those belonging historically-excluded and underrepresented communities.

Guiding Principles

  1. Champion equity, diversity, and inclusion in curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular initiatives through collaboration and engagement.
  2. Dismantle systemic barriers that threaten the progression and success of marginalized and minoritized students, faculty, and staff.
  3. Provide educational resources, programming, outreach, and learning opportunities that promote access and equity in all that WE do.
  4. Align data-informed actions with meaningful accountability to ensure progress on outcomes related to diversity, equity, and/or inclusion.

Office of Campus Culture and Climate

At Bradley University, we celebrate you — your personality, your style, what you believe, and how you view the world. We combine different fields, backgrounds, talents, and strengths so everyone feels welcome and accepted for who they are. We understand there is great strength in our differences. The Office of Campus Culture and Climate plays an important role in that mission. We develop and promote campus-wide initiatives, so every student, faculty member, or staff member feels truly welcomed, respected, and valued.

Through comprehensive Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) workshops and education, data-driven initiatives, and community engagement, we’re working together to strengthen our campus culture, so Bradley isn’t just a place of learning, it’s a welcoming and inclusive campus for all.

Office of Inclusive Excellence

The Office of Inclusive Excellence supports the successful transition, engagement, and persistence for historically underrepresented communities such as racially diverse student populations such as Asian/Pacific Islander, African American/Black, Hispanic/Latinx, and Multiracial students; students within the LGBTQ+ community; and/or students who are first in their families to attend college. The Office of Inclusive Excellence also provides educational outreach to the entire campus community through programming, awareness months and collaborative efforts with student organizations and university departments. With the goal of "creating meaningful connections," the Office of Inclusive Excellence focuses intensely on the promotion of an inclusive campus environment for all students to enjoy.

As students learn more about issues facing other cultures, they can explore their own life journeys through new perspectives.

Office of Title IX Compliance

Title IX and other federal and state laws collectively prohibit discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender expression, pregnant or parenting status, and LGBTQ+ identity. These laws impose legal requirements and protections that serve as a foundation from which Bradley University has created policies, practices, services, and programs that work in concert to advance equity for students, staff, and faculty of all identities.

The Office of Title IX Compliance is the University’s central resource for redressing and preventing gender-based discrimination and sexual harassment and violence issues experienced by all Bradley community members. We are committed to creating educational programming for a variety of audiences, providing a variety of supportive measures, conducting impartial and trauma-informed investigations of complaints, facilitating informal resolutions, and ensuring compliance with state and federal mandates. We invite all campus community members to increase their awareness, prevent violence where they can, and foster a culture of safety and respect.
