Offering Education for the Modern Student

Flexibility and adaptability is the name of the game in higher ed, and Bradley is embracing the changing needs of learners by offering more online education opportunities. Most recently, two new 12-hour online certificate programs for Nonprofit Leadership and Computational Data Science were approved to accommodate busy professionals.

These new four-course certificate programs are adapted from the full course online graduate programs of the same name. Bradley’s Associate Vice President of Online and Distance Education, Rui Li, described the decision: “The master’s programs were launched in the fall of last year, but we wanted to focus on providing more flexible pathways so we created certificate programs from them.” The flexibility of these new programs, with fewer courses and online accessibility, make them ideal for adult learners. “Online education is what adult students want, and certificate programs provide bite-sized course loads for even more flexibility,” Li said.

Pursuing one of these new certificate programs is also a more affordable option than traditional programs. “We are offering discounts on the tuition for these first two programs,” said Li.

However, these benefits do not come at the expense of quality. Bradley remains committed to providing the same exceptional experience for all students, online and in person. “A lot of other universities don’t have full-time faculty involved with online courses,” Li noted, “but at Bradley the faculty is dedicated to building and teaching online courses, which makes a big difference in program quality and student support.”

In the future, Bradley will offer more online programs so stay tuned for those opportunities. These are just the first additions to Bradley’s growing options for adult learners to take control of continuing their education. “These programs are a great way for adult learners to refine their skills, learn new skills or change career paths,” Li said. “They are also a great way to return to campus at Bradley in a new way!”
