What skills will I gain by participating in Fellows?

The Fellows program will be covering a wide range of topics to enhance your leadership skills including:

  • Identifying your leadership styles
  • Developing multicultural competencies to live and work in a diverse world
  • Engaging in crucial conversations and civil discourse
  • Becoming more civically minded and responsible
  • Creating a personal leadership philosophy

Do I have to have previous leadership and service experience?

No. This program is created to help students improve their leadership skills and engage with the community. We are looking for motivated individuals who are passionate about creating change, but need to know where to start or how to develop their skills.

Am I eligible to participate?

You qualify for the program if you fit the following criteria:

  • Have been a full-time college student for at least one year prior to August 2023 either at Bradley or at another college/university
  • Be a sophomore or junior with at least 2 full academic years left at Bradley
  • Must not graduate prior to Spring 2025
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA

Can transfer students apply?

Absolutely! Transfer students are more than welcome and encouraged to apply for the program.

What is the time commitment?

Approximately 10 hours per month, this includes

  • Participating in 2 seminars each month (90 minutes each)
  • 5 hours of community service
  • Reflection assignments
  • Attending community programs

How are Fellows selected?

Fellows are chosen by a selection committee made up of Bradley faculty/staff. The committee will assess applications and conduct video interviews. Video interviews will occur in July and individuals are notified of their membership status by the end of July.

Where do I do my community service?

Anywhere! We recommend considering needs you are passionate about and finding an organization in the community that serves that need. Continuing to serve within that community will allow you to build connections and make a larger impact.

If I plan to study abroad can I still participate in the program?

Yes. We strongly encourage students to take advantage of all opportunity’s college has to offer. If a student decided to study abroad, they will still have to participate in programming and experiences virtually.
