Bradley University Honored for Transfer Excellence

Bradley University is proud to announce its recognition by the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) as one of the esteemed institutions on the PTK 2024 Transfer Honor Roll. This accolade highlights Bradley’s exceptional commitment to supporting and advancing the academic journeys of transfer students.

This year’s PTK Transfer Honor Roll acknowledges 228 colleges and universities nationwide that have demonstrated outstanding achievements in creating dynamic pathways to support transfer students. Institutions were selected based on their excellence in areas such as transfer-friendly policies, academic support, admissions practices, and scholarships tailored for transfer students.

"This recognition from Phi Theta Kappa highlights Bradley’s ability to provide a seamless and supportive transfer process for students," said DJ Menifee, Bradley University’s Vice President for Enrollment, Marketing and Communications. “We understand the unique challenges faced by transfer students and work strategically to foster an environment that not only addresses these challenges, but also celebrates the diverse perspectives these students bring to our campus.”

Bradley University has continually prioritized the needs of transfer students through initiatives like personalized academic advising, robust orientation programs, and financial aid packages designed specifically for transfer students. These efforts help cultivate an inclusive and welcoming environment that helps transfer students integrate smoothly into the Bradley community and ensure they have the resources and opportunities to thrive in their academic pursuits.

"The goal of most students attending community college is earning a bachelor’s degree, but few do because of financial barriers and the complexity of the transfer process,” says Dr. Lynn TincherLadner, President and CEO of Phi Theta Kappa in a PTK news release. “We are proud to recognize the exceptional colleges and universities that go above and beyond to create accessible pathways to bachelor’s degree completion for community college transfer students.”

The Transfer Honor Roll was based on analysis from the National Student Clearinghouse, and on data submitted through the four-year institution’s profile on PTK Connect, Phi Theta Kappa’s online tool designed to help students find their best-fit colleges and career pathways.

The Transfer Honor Roll is determined by 40 key metrics related to the support and success of transfer students, including college cost and financial aid, campus life for transfer, admission practices, and bachelor’s degree completion. For the full PTK 2024 Transfer Honor Roll list click here.
