Bradley University's Turner Center for Entrepreneurship will offer a number of events and programs this January. Read below to learn more.


Starting Your Business in Illinois Series

Designed for aspiring entrepreneurs, this workshop series is for those who want to learn all the components of how to start a successful business in Illinois. Get a realistic view of the requirements and the resources available to support your new venture. While attending one of these no-cost, two-hour workshops, you'll learn how to get your business name registered, where to obtain a tax ID number, which legal form to choose, business planning, taxes, financing options and much more! These events are sponsored by the Illinois Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Bradley and co-sponsored by Morton Community Bank. Government Friendly Capability Statement Training

The Illinois Procurement Technical Assistance Center at Bradley will host a live webinar to help government contractors know what to include and what not to include on their Capabilities Statement. For instance, participants will learn the importance of being concise, defining a purpose and how to stand out among other companies.


Sell Online with eCommerce Tools

The Illinois SBDC at Bradley has partnered with Grow with Google to provide a live webinar training series at no cost to participants. During this webinar, you will be given tools to assist you in selling your products online. We'll discuss listing your products for free with Google My Business and Merchant Center, using an E-Commerce store built with Shopify and much more. Grow with Google helps people grow their skills, careers and businesses by offering free digital skills training and tools.


Self-Employed to Employer Series: A Legal Primer for Hiring, Firing and Everything in Between

The Illinois SBDC at Bradley is collaborating with Miller, Hall, and Triggs, LLC to discuss the challenges for small, self-employed business owners looking to hire, maintain and fire employees during this no-cost live webinar. This is a two-part series. If you're a sole-proprietor who is considering hiring your first employee, or a small business looking to expand and need answers to the hiring and interviewing processes, personnel policies, employee disciplinary issues and COVID-19 concerns, these training events are for you.
