Preparing Illinois Businesses for Southeast Asia's Expanded Role in the Global Economy

The Illinois Small Business Development Center's International Trade Center (ITC) at Bradley has been awarded a U.S. Department of Education Business and International Education Program grant for our Southeast Asia (SEA) Change project to assist companies with increasing exports to SEA. As part of this effort, the ITC has brought together trade specialists, subject matter experts and consultants from around the country and across Asia to present a webinar series on this dynamic region. This no-cost webinar will examine how the distinct cultures, businesses and regulatory environments of SEA offer enormous potential for Illinois companies.


Starting Your Business in Illinois Workshops

This workshop is for aspiring entrepreneurs who want to learn all the components of how to start a successful business in Illinois. Participants will get a realistic view of the requirements and the resources available to support new ventures. While attending this two-hour workshop, at no cost, you will learn how to get your business name registered, where to obtain a tax ID number, which legal form to choose, business planning, taxes, financing options and much more! These events are sponsored by the Illinois Small Business Development Center at Bradley and co-sponsored by Morton Community Bank. Drive Traffic to Your Website with SEO Watch Party!

Anyone with a website or online business presence can benefit from search engine optimization (SEO), which is the process of helping search engines find and display your site in search results. Hosted by one of Google’s internal SEO experts, this workshop will give you a behind-the-scenes view into how Google approaches SEO for its own sites. You will learn practical strategies that you or your web development team can implement to help drive traffic from Google Search to your site. The Illinois Small Business Development Center at Bradley has partnered with Grow with Google to provide this no-cost training opportunity. Grow with Google helps people grow their skills, careers and businesses by offering free digital skills training and tools.

Vietnam is the hot market in Asia at the moment as a sourcing and manufacturing destination, as well as a target for U.S. exports. According to the U.S. Commercial Service, this country of over 98 million consumers boasts the demographics needed for continuous growth over the next 20 years. Our speakers will bring their experience in assisting U.S. companies to export their products, as well as share their deep knowledge of Vietnam and offer insightful strategies.
