2019 Q2 Business and Economic Indicators

September 23, 2019

The Second Quarter Composite Index of Business and Economic Indicators for the Peoria-Pekin Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA; Peoria, Tazewell, Woodford, Stark and Marshall counties) partially reversed its first-quarter decline by increasing 0.4%, reaching an index value of 103.2. This value is also 0.4% higher than the index value this time last year. These second quarter improvements are above and beyond normal seasonal growth, with gains outpacing losses among the studied seasonally adjusted labor, job market and local sales indicators.

Faculty and staff of the Departments of Economics and of Management and Leadership in the Foster College of Business at Bradley University review over 30 diverse business indicators in the preparation of these quarterly assessments.
