Classic Car Show on Bradley's Campus
March 28, 2022
Are you a classic car junkie always searching for the nearest show? Peoria locals, look no further than Bradley University's campus! Next week, on April 9, rows and rows of classic cars will be on display surrounding the heart of campus, Founder's Circle, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Bradley's collegiate chapter of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) is bringing back this event after a few years. Over 60 cars will compete to win awards in various categories. Three of the competing cars have been worked on directly by Bradley's SAE students.
Bradley's SAE chapter provides a way for its members to get together on campus and develop important skills such as leadership, time management, project management, communications, organization, planning, budgeting, finance and more. SAE believes student members are vital to the continued success and future of engineers.
"Bradley's chapter of SAE has been working for several months to solicit attendees and vehicles, coordinate food trucks and music, and prepare the venue," said event coordinator and Bradley student Dylan Konop. "The [car show] is open to everyone ... and will be a time to not only gather to appreciate cars, but to gather to appreciate each other and the opportunities we get."
Food and raffle tickets for door prizes will be available at this free event. All are welcome to join.
Some media in Bradley University's current print, video and online materials was acquired before the COVID-19 pandemic. Media acquired after the pandemic began was done so in compliance with Bradley's COVID-19 safety protocols at the time. The ongoing safety of our faculty, staff and students is of the utmost concern during these unprecedented times.
