Bradley Mid-Year Commencement

December 21, 2019

Bradley University conducted its mid-year commencement ceremony Saturday in the Renaissance Coliseum on campus. The ceremony honored nearly 300 undergraduate and graduate students.

Graduating student Pierre Paul delivered the student address telling his classmates to embrace the uncomfortable moments in life and blaze a trail for all of those who are yet to come. Paul is a political science major who moved to the United States from Brazil 15 years ago and recently became a U.S. citizen. He is the CEO of "We Hear You" LLC, a company he founded as part of the Social Impact Challenge on campus this year, Speaker of the Assembly for Student Senate and a member of the Bradley Chorale.

Alumni Association President and 2002 Bradley graduate, Matt Noe delivered the alumni remarks encouraging the graduates to support future students and stay involved with Bradley. Noe is the Senior Director of Global Human Resources Operations and Employee Relations at SC Johnson.

President Gary Roberts applauded the graduates and emphasized the significance of a Bradley education and the importance of the soft skills they learned while on the hilltop.  "Regardless of what you do with your Bradley education and degree, have confidence that it has given you the ability and the power to be great at whatever you choose."

Trustee, Wayne Klasing delivered the invocation. He received his bachelor's degree from Bradley in 1964 in industrial engineering, has served on Bradley’s Board of Trustees since 2005 and will retire from the board in February.
